Background information

About The Diaconal College
The International line is facilitated by the Diaconal College - Diakonhøjskolen. The Diaconal College is an old institution that dates back to the 1920s. The college educates diacons which, in a Danish context, are church-related social workers. Diacons in Denmark are lay people. Often Diacons from the college find jobs in organisations such as the YMCA and YWCA social programmes as well as in state organisations.
An ecumenical environment
The Diaconal College is based on the values and creed of the Danish Lutheran Folk Church. Most students share the Christian faith, but they come from many different church backgrounds, - hence respect and dialogue is highly valued with regard to students of other denominations.
